Foxhole: How to List Your Property Checklist

Welcome to Foxhole — The Military BnB Platform
Whether you’re a seasoned host or listing your home for the first time, Foxhole was built to help you serve the military community while earning dependable income. We’re assuming you already have an account and that your military status has been verified through VerifyPass — or, if you’re a civilian host, your application has been reviewed and approved by the Foxhole Team. Every listing on Foxhole contributes to a trusted, veteran-first platform built to support service members during PCS, TDY, and training moves.

Getting Started: Set Up for Success
Creating your listing is simple — and this guide walks you through exactly what to do. From naming your property and writing a solid description to uploading professional photos and setting your calendar, this process is designed to make your listing stand out while giving military guests what they need: clarity, trust, and professionalism. Once your listing is live, verified guests will be able to view it, book a short-term stay request a long-term stay, and book with confidence.

Your Goal: Create a Clean, Competitive Listing
Your listing should feel professional, simple, and easy to navigate — and your pricing should be reasonable and rank-appropriate. Before you publish, ask yourself: Would I rent this if I were in uniform again?
Foxhole Feedback: Hosts who list their properties at competitive, slightly discounted prices see significantly more bookings and repeat guests. Why? Because they’re smart — they checked the pay chart and know what each rank can actually afford. Hosts who overprice their properties simply don’t get booked. The military community values trust and fairness, not Airbnb-style markups.

Foxhole’s 8-Step Host Checklist

1. Clean Title
Think like Google. Your title should be searchable and tied to the military.
Example: “TDY Guesthouse of Austin, TX” will beat “Charming Bungalow” every time.

2. 10 Professional Pictures
We only allow 10 — because the military is simple and efficient. No one scrolls through 60 photos.
Start with your best shot (usually exterior or living room), then include:

  • Living Room

  • Kitchen

  • Bedrooms

  • Bathrooms

  • Exterior

  • Any standout amenities

3. Description
Don’t sound like a robot. Talk to your guests like they’re fellow service members.
Explain the layout, amenities, vibe, and what to expect. Include your SOPs for entry (key box, smart lock, etc).
Foxhole Recommendation:

  • Start with the essentials

  • Then add your tips and tricks

  • Close with something real: “Honored to host you.”

4. Cater It to Your Audience
Write directly to your target guest.
If you’re near DC and offering short-term TDY lodging, say that in the first sentence.
When guests feel seen, they book faster.

5. Submit Your Listing
Double-check everything:

  • Spelling

  • Picture order

  • Pricing

6. Review Your Listing as a Guest
Open your listing in a new tab and view it from the guest’s perspective.
Would you book it?

7. Set Up Your Stripe Account
Go to Dashboard → Settings → Select “United States”
Then return to the dashboard home screen and click “Set Up Stripe.”

8. You’re Now Ready for Payouts
Once Stripe is set up, you’re ready to accept automatic guest bookings and receive payouts directly.

Final Thought
Listing on Foxhole isn’t just about filling a space — it’s about serving the community you came from. By following this checklist, you’ll create a clean, professional, and veteran-friendly listing that stands out and supports those still in uniform.
